Trash and Recycling
We currently have three options for trash and recycling service for our neighborhood.
Both companies supply containers and pick up recycling on one day and trash on another. They also pick up yard waste on the same day as recycling. Yard waste needs to be in a can, a yard waste bag or bundled with string.
We do not have leaf pick up in our neighborhood. Leaves need to be bagged. The county only picks
yard waste in paper bags. Plastic bags are no longer allowed.
There is also no bulk pick up with either company.
Republic picks up Recycling and Yard Waste on Wednesdays and General Trash on Thursdays
American picks up everything on Wednesdays
Evergreen picks up everything on Wednesdays
Glass is not allowed in the recycling. It needs to be deposited in the purple bins. Nearest one is across from the post office on Page Avenue.
The other option that is available is to take your refuge to the county dump at the West Ox Waste Transfer station. Recycling is free but there is a charge for regular trash and bulk items. You can also take household hazardous waste. There is also a composting station.
